See you at LAND

Artist Talk: Jim Stasiak

Sunday March 24th 1pm – 3pm

Jim’s current exhibition is a mixture of prints on metal and framed matted prints, but whatever the medium, they just look gorgeous and are a real head turner as you walk into the gallery. The show entitled Photographs and Improvisations is an exploration of a simple leaf, which is then creatively and digitally expanded to alter our perception. Jim has a strong emotional connection to his work and is in excited to share his concepts at LAND at his talk on Sunday, 24 March from 1pm. Come on down, look at the exhibition, listen to Jim, then ask away with any questions that you might have about his work.

LAND is known for it’s championing of local photography and photographers. We have a range of wonderful work to view from around the Harlem and Housatonic Valleys, whilst in our Hudson Valley / Catkills section Winter has well and truly receded.. Gallery owner and photographer Jane Haslam recently wrote about her love of sunrise / sunset photography in her personal blog and to compliment this LAND is fortunate to be able to feature the results of a few of her colourful excursions.

Hudson Valley Sunset from the slops of Bash Bish mountain

This mini feature is a happy and bright addition to our newly enlarged rear gallery so if the mountains are calling, but you don’t have chance to go yourself drop into LAND for the next best thing to being there.

Our rear gallery also features the sublime work of watercolor / mixed media artist and owner of Arbor Gallery in Carmel, Kelly Edwards. Kelly finds inspiration in the beauty of nature, expressionism, art nouveau and the watercolor medium itself. She became an artist in order to counter a need for control, allowing herself to pursue the unexpected in her work.
